Many of us know what it's like to drive in the Bay Area...especially in rainy weather!  This poem describes what that was like for me.  I was driving home from a friend's house and it was a little scary, but I thankfully didn't get into an accident.

This poem is called a quadruplet, which means there are four lines in each stanza.  Here's what Professor Gubernat had to say about it:

"This clearly struck a chord with the group--perhaps because we see in all the details of a terrifying drive in rainy Bay Area weather, our own freeway nightmares.  The rhyme scheme adds to it as less than dire, even a bit self-consciously ironic."

Wow, I wasn't even attempting to bring humor into this poem!  I was hoping that it would be taken more seriously and that it would present a moral.  Later, I learned that the best poetry doesn't present obvious morals.  They may hint at a subtle message, but that's not what I did here.  This isn't one of my best works, but I still received an A on it.  Let me know what you think: Was it a good idea to make this poem rhyme?  Did this poem come off as serious and somber, or does it have a sense of humor?  Or both?
